SCARECROW FESTIVAL 8 days - starting on the Wednesday before the August Bank Holiday - so for 2005 follow the crows from 24th August ...... This takes place from the Wednesday before the August Bank Holiday each year and goes on for 8 days thus including the Bank Holiday. It is on at the same time as Bude Jazz Festival and Lifeboat Day. There are various fun classes to enter, but not everyone does. It is too much fun for some people to want to compete. Everyone automatically gets a chance at winning the Scarecrow Trophy which is presented to the Scarecrow that raises the most money during the festival - by whatever means, fair or foul!
